With a Master of Architecture and a business degree, Janette brings a unique blend of design acumen and strategic insight to her practice.
Janette Tropea’s upbringing in Mexico and time living in Argentina during her graduate studies have instilled in her a profound appreciation for diverse cultures and human experiences. Her extensive travels throughout Europe and South America have further enriched her perspective, allowing her to immerse herself in various artistic and architectural traditions. This deep cultural engagement informs her design approach, enabling her to create spaces that resonate authentically with clients and communities alike.
Before founding JN Tropea Design, Janette spent 15 years honing her expertise at both family-run and corporate architecture firms. Focusing on various project types including: mixed-use developments, retail spaces, commercial projects, educational institutions (K-12 and higher education), senior living facilities, and multifamily housing, gained her insight and deep experience in designing and managing highly technical and high stakes projects. Her portfolio includes various award-winning projects in San Diego, reflecting her commitment to excellence and innovation in design.

Kelley Ross
SENIOR ARCHITECT - ARCHITECT | CAWith over eighteen years of architectural leadership, Kelley brings technical mastery and a refined eye for detail. Having guided projects from bespoke homes to high end office campuses, she ensures each design reflects its owner’s vision while meeting the highest standards of craftsmanship and functionality. A true collaborator, Kelley excels at fostering seamless partnerships. Whether it is in coordinating with clients, contractors, or specialist consultants she streamlines delivery and maintains quality at every stage. Her advocacy for integrated design build processes and her commitment to thoughtful communication guarantee that each project is delivered efficiently, and with the lasting elegance our clients expect.
